Foot Scrub
- 2 Tbsp Canola oil
- 2 Tbsp fine beach sand
- 3-5 drops rosemary oil
Mix ingredients with a fork until a paste is formed.
Concentrating on problem areas, massage the scrub onto feet.
Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
Almond & Mayonnaise Scrub
for very dry skin
- 1/4 C. almonds
- 1/8 tsp. mayonnaise
- Grind almonds in blender until they form a meal
- Mix in mayonnaise
Rinse skin with vinegar then rub in the meal gently but thoroughly. Relax for 10 - 15 minutes, then rinse off. Follow with vinegar rinse.
Cornmeal Thigh Scrub
loosen stubborn cellulite
- 1 small avocado stone
- 4 Tbsp cornmeal
- 2 teaspoons aloe gel
- 1 Tbsp cold-pressed grape seed oil
- 6 drops juniper essential oil
- 6 drops lemon essential oil
- Put avocado pit in a heavy paper bag wrapping several layers. Use a hammer or wooden mallet to break into pieces small enough to fit into a coffeegrinder or food processor. Grind to a gritty meal-like consistency.
- Mix in the cornmeal then seal the mixture in a sterilized jar and label.
- Add the aloe, grape seed oil, juniper oil, and lemon oils into a bowl. Sprinkle 2 teaspoons of the avocado and cornmeal mixture over the wet ingredients and stir. Add additional meal as necessary to get a gritty paste.
Use a body mist and wet legs thoroughly. Apply the paste with
small, circular massaging motions. Relax for 15 - 20 minutes
then rinse with warm water.
Repeat the thigh massage twice a week.
Yogurt Scrub & Conditioner
- 1 Tbsp table salt
- 1 Tbsp unflavored yogurt
- 3 Tbsp baby oil
Mix in small bowl. Vary the mix of ingredients to suit.
Use especially on dry winter skin when legs are shaved often.
Acts as a conditioner as well as a scrub. Also works well on
other body parts.
Honey & Almond Scrub
- 2 Tbsp almonds
- 2 tsp milk
- 1/2 tsp flour
- 1/2 tsp honey
Blend almonds in then add milk, flour and honey; mixing until
a thick paste is formed.
Rub into skin then rinse with warm water. Follow with a pH balancer.
Honey & Oats Scrub
- 1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1 Tbsp cider vinegar
- 1 tsp ground almonds
After moistening face with a warm washcloth, apply mixture to face. Be careful to
avoid sensitive area around the eyes. After mixture dries, remove with a warm, damp washcloth.
Milk & Sugar Body Scrub
- 1/4 C granulated sugar
- 2 Tbsp light vegetable oil
- 2 Tbsp fresh whole milk
Mix all ingredients into a smooth cream.
Before your bath, gently massage the mixture all over
your body. It should increase circulation and remove
dry, flaky skin. Rinse with warm water and moisturize.
Store in regrigerator, discard if milk sours.
Citrus & Oatmeal Grains
- 1 C. dried orange and lemon peel
- 1 C. cooked oatmeal
- 1 C. blanched almonds
Blend peels, oats, and almonds until the mixture is a fine powder.
Keep in attractive container in the bathroom.
Place a amount of the powder in the palm of your hand, then moisten
with just a few drops of warm tap water. Using a gentle circular
and upward motion, massage the paste onto your face. Rinse with
tepid water and pat dry.
Follow with facial rinsing lotion or facial cream.
Another Honey & Oatmeal Scrubbing Cream
- 1/2 C. uncooked oatmeal
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1 Tbsp cider vinegar
- 1 tsp. ground almonds
Combine all ingredients in a glass or enamel bowl or pan.
Wet a clean washcloth with very warm water and drape your face
for a minute .. or steam your face with herbal vinegar.
Being careful to avoid the sensitive area around your eyes, apply
the oatmeal mixture to your face and let dry completely. For
young and firm skin, gently rub off the dried mixture using a
clean terry washcloth or towel.
Leaning over the sink, rub your face in brisk but gentle circles.
Rinse with warm water and pat dry.
Follow with a fresh facial cream.
