Bath Oil Recipes


Custom - Scented Bath Oil
  • Sunflower oil
  • Essential oil in your choice of scent
  • Corked container
  • Crystal beads, dried flowers, little seashells, etc. if bottle decoration desired
  1. Using a funnel, pour sunflower oil into the container; leaving an inch of space at the top. Add 4 tsp of the essential oil per 1/2 quart.
  2. Cork the container and agitate the bottle gently. Allow to stand for 2 to 3 days before using.

Foaming Bath Oil Balls
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 2 tbs. citric acid or ascorbic acid (powdered vitamin C)
  • 1 tbs. borax powder (for softening)
  • 2 tbs. powdered sugar (for binding)
  • 2 tbs. sweet almond oil
  • 1 tsp. vitamin E oil (preservative)
  • 1/4 tsp. fragrance or essential oil
  1. Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl and stir until well blended.
  2. Drizzle in almond oil and stir until mixture is moistened. Add vitamin E oil and fragrance and stir until well mixed.
  3. Take teaspoon size globs of mixture and form into ball shapes with fingers.

    Note: Mixture will be very crumbly. Adding a little bit more vitamin E oil will help.
  4. Place the balls on a sheet of wax paper and let stand 2 - 3 hours. After 2 to 3 hours, reshape balls.
  5. Let the balls air dry and harden for 10 days. Store balls in a closed container to protect from moisture.
To use, drop a ball into your bathtub in warm water.

Fragrant Honey Milk Bath Oil
  • 1 cup honey
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup baby oil
  • Fragrance oil of desired scent
Combine honey, milk, salt and baking soda in a bowl.

Fill your tub and pour the mixure in. Add the baby oil and a few drops of the fragrance.

Hawaiian Bath Oil
  • 1/8 cup of canola oil
  • 1/8 cup of apricot oil
  • 10 drops of mango oil
  • 10 drops of coconut oil
  • 10 drops of gardenia oil
Mix ingredients thoroughly and bottle until ready for use.

Add to the warm running water as you fill your tub.

PMS Bath Oil
  • 1/8 cup of sweet almond oil
  • 1/8 cup of grape seed
  • 3 drops of clary sage oil
  • 3 drops of lavender oil
  • 2 drops of rose absolute oil
  • 2 drops of juniper oil
Mix oils together and bottle until read for use. Add to warm running bath water and mix well.

Note: If stomach is bloated, gently rub a few drops of the oils directly onto the area.

Romance Bath Oil
  • 4 drops ylang ylang oil
  • 4 drops frankincense oil
  • 4 drops jasmine sambac oil
  • 4 drops sandalwood oil
  • 4 drops rose oil
Measure oils drop by drop, adding them to the flow of warm running bath water.

Sweet and Soft Bath Oil
  • 1/8 cup soybean oil
  • 1/8 cup jojoba oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey
  • 15 drops rosemary oil
  • 12 drops lemon oil
  • 5 drops sandalwood oil
  • Mix all ingredients thoroughly and bottle.

    Add to warm running water.
