Bath Salts - Designer Bath Salts Recipes

Note: Many of these recipes are similar. Pick one or more that sound good and give them a try.

Mountain Dreams Bath Salts
Woodsy scented bath salts suited for soothing muscles and relaxing. A very masculine aroma. Women as well as men should like this one.
  • 2 cups of Epsom salts - or mixture of epsom & sea
  • 2 tablespoons of baking soda
  • 5 drops of rosewood essential oil
  • 2 drops cedarwood essential oil
  • 2 drops Chamomile essential oil
  • attractive jar with a tight fitting lid
  1. Add salts and baking soda to a bowl and mix well
  2. Mix oils in a small cup, then pour them evenly over the salt
  3. Blend the mixture thoroughly
  4. Let the mixture stand for an hour or more before sealing in a jar
To color your salts, mix yellow and red to produce a light brown

Lime & Basil Bath Salts
  • 5 cups of sea salt, epsom salt, or combination
  • 1 Tsp. of baking powder
  • 2 Tsp. of almond oil
  • 5 drops lime scented oil
  • 4 drops Basil Oil
  • 1 drop green coloring
  • 1 drop yellow coloring
  1. Mix salt and the baking powder in one bowl
  2. In separate smaller bowl mix all liquids
  3. Add liquids to salts while stirring well
  4. Let stand for 2 hours so they can completely absorb scent and the coloring
  5. Place mixture them in jars with cork stoppers
Note: For a good seal, dip cork in melted green wax - to match salts.

Layered Bridal Bath Salts
  • 2 cups rock salt
  • 1/2 tsp of Rose fragrance oil
  • 1/2 tsp of Sage fragrance oil
  • 1/2 tsp of Lavender fragrance oil
  • 1/2 tsp of Rosemary fragrance oil
  • various food coloring
Divide salt into four equal amounts and place each one in a sealable container. And to each container do the following.
  1. Add Rose fragrance oil - and 4 Drops of red food coloring if desired. Cap and shake well.
  2. Add Chamomile-Sage - or just sage - along with 4 drops o
  3. f green and 2 drops of blue food coloring. Cap and shake well.
  4. Add Lavender fragrance oil plus 3 drops of red and 4 drops of blue food color coloring. Cap and shake well.
  5. Add Rosemary fragrance oil plus 4-8 drops of green food color coloring. Cap and shake well.
Using separate sheets of wax paper, spread out each color and allow to air dry for several hours. When completely dry, add it to a container in layers. Rose, Rosemary, Lavender, Sage. Note: You can accelerate the drying process by puttint the wax papers with the drying salts on a cookie sheet and put it in a very low heat the oven. The pilot light is sufficient for a gas oven. For an electric oven, pre-heat at lowest temperature then turn off before putting in the salts. Do not use a microwave.
