Day Spa Treatments for the Busy Executive
Don't do lunch. Do day-spa!In a Gallup poll on stress, 70% of the respondents reported that their job is frequently stressful. A study by Juliet Schor, a professor of economics at Harvard, concluded that the average American works a full month more today (in average hours) than Americans worked 30 years ago. Her study showed that the numbers are even higher for those in management and executive positions.
In his Tips for Reducing Executive Stress, Richard C. Rierdan, PhD says, "From the perspective of your life as a whole, the most effective way of avoiding stress is to become more self-aware." A day spa visit is a great way to increase self-awareness as it gives you a respite from the workday world. Time spent at a day spa also relaxes and revitalizes you, making it easier to return to work and face the tasks of the day.
The good news is that many day spas have included special executive packages and á la carte treatments that can be completed in just an hour or two!
Since, in the executive world, looking good is directly related to feeling good about yourself, many executive day spa packages focus on results as well as relaxation. Executive day spa treatments include manicures, pedicures, massage, and facials. Some day spas give their patrons the option of packaging a number of treatments into the time they have available for a day spa visit.
In addition, some metropolitan day spas cater exclusively to the corporate crowd and may include lunch in an executive package. While patrons always have the option of maintaining total privacy, executive patrons frequently find that, especially over lunch, the relaxed day spa atmosphere is conducive to informal networking opportunities.
